ICE North America took place on May 13-15, 2019. With the primary focus being on gaming technology, the conference gathered experts from online sports betting, eSports, iLottery, and affiliate marketing, to discuss the future of the industry both in the US and worldwide.

“Due to the fact that the US is currently heavily involved in ‘brick and mortar’ operations, the US market hasn’t allowed the technology that is available to deliver gambling products to thrive (as it has in European markets) – like internet applications, internet platforms, and internet delivery systems. This will be key for this segment in the US. The stakeholders in the US sports wagering sector are now coming together to define and build a sustainable industry.”
Rocky Osborn,
VP of Global Business Development & Sales, who attended the conference on behalf of Innovecs

Rocky also adds that in-play wagering has become the ultimate player engagement solution as discussed at ICE North America. Though it has seemingly been a massive success in European markets, in-play wagering has not yet taken hold in the US. For operators, it is an offering that will differentiate sportsbook businesses.

Another key point outlined by Rocky is that, for existing casino operators, it is imperative to incorporate video game gambling and eSports into their current offerings to fulfill the needs of the new millennial demographic. Operators must understand how the eSport audience differs from the regular sports audience, and the industry must design products and experiences to appeal to this audience.

Simply put, ICE North America has offered a great opportunity to network with industry experts, adopt the best practices, and share knowledge.
