Malta has established itself as a hub for both talent and vendors to migrate to, as the demand from growing vendors is hitting double digit growth year over year.
It has its own Governing body – the MGA (Malta Gaming Authority) that keeps a keen eye on compliance and assists companies by issuing licenses and ongoing support.
It is no surprise that Malta hosted the biggest igaming summit for the fifth time in a row.
Following four successful editions, SiGMA 2018 kept up the good work. The igaming expo turned into the most visited event on the European igaming calendar.

SiGMA 2018 attracted a number of major players in the igaming and social gaming space (i.e. casino slots, ilottery, casual, and social games) like Wazdan, Kindred Group, and Booming Games as well as many emerging vendors rising through the ranks.
The expo floor was buzzing with a real sense of energy and excitement, as 12,500 attendees were coming to the vendors’ stands, including those of bet365 and Stanleybet.
The agendas were filled with industry-focused discussions during all three days. The ones that generated most interest unveiled programmatic predictions with opportunities for igaming and uncovered the challenges ahead cryptocurrency regulations and blockchain capacities to bring transparency and reduce frauds.
In one of the workshops, “Taking Programmatic In-House vs Managed Services”, the thought leadership debated the merits and pitfalls of both with somewhat of a non-conclusive outcome to which route is best.
The number one factor in this consideration is still Talent resource.
There is strength in the argument that an outsourced solution makes sense.
