In January 2019, Innovecs took place in SMC3 Jump Start, an educational conference focused on logistics and supply chains held in Atlanta, GA, as both a benefactor and an attendee.
The conference at a glance. Upwards of 40 speakers and 15 hours of networking — these are the key metrics of SMC3 Jump Start.
Since SMC3 is a company working on solutions for less-than-truckload shipping, the conference was focused on logistics and technology providers, carriers, and shippers.
SMC3 Jump Start’s idea has revolved around the challenge of accurately estimating the cost of shipments with many involved parties.
One of the ready-made tools introduced at the conference was a feature aimed at increasing the profitability of both customers and products, Activity Based Costing.
However, the main disadvantage of using out-of-the-box solutions is that they can’t involve all of a company’s business processes. As a result, for such cases, it’s better to either tailor your own tool from scratch or revamp an off-the-shelf solution.
Gary González, Executive Vice President of Innovecs USA, has attended SMC3 Jump Start to meet executives whose companies are looking to overhaul their solutions.
“Another truly amazing event by SMC3! Looking forward to Connections 2019 in Colorado Springs!”
Gary González, Executive Vice President of Innovecs USA
